Missing Link is Paddy and Stewarty's recording project. Stewarty does all the music, Paddy on vocals and Al (Stewarty's brother) is responsible for presentation (tape covers, printing lyrics etc). They have several cassettes available at present. Paddy and Stewarty are, of course, members of Patrol , one of the finest (and certainly the oldest) punk bands in Leven.
TapeographyAll Missing Link recordings are made at Stewarty's palatial home studio and include news-sheet/lyrics. The lyrics would bring a tear to a glass eye! (sample... True love, heartbreak and pain, sorrow and constant strain)The cassettes are £2 each, including postage, and you can get them from the address below. If you want a tape, please WRITE to Stewarty and send £2 worth of money per tape.
OKTape number four for "Missing Link" and still no sign of a record deal. This one's taken a bit longer to come along than the previous three, but more on that later. On the positive side, the extra time spent on the preparation of these songs is reflected in the sound.
StalkerYet again this shows a slight change in musical attitude, it could be due to lots of guitar practice or possibly a subscription to Total Guitar. It could be due to lots of singing in the bath or even a vocals effects unit, who knows? We reckon that all these tracks are worth a listen, but don't miss the last track, Stalker! As said before the tape took a few months longer than the others to complete, this was due to the fact that Stewarty, Paddy, Ronnie and John were asked to reform "Patrol" and do a few gigs. Although this meant that Stewarty had to swap his guitar for a loan of Ronnie's bass, it could be that the experience of playing some of those old punk tracks is reflected in the sound of this tape.PreviouslyWe already have three tapes available. The first is "A Sign of the Times". This contains some good tracks but at the time we were experimenting with sequencing and as such used lots of keyboard. We were pleased to have this reviewed by Melody Maker but would admit that our later work is better. Our second release was in the form of "Baby Boy" although there was more guitar involved, it still used lots of keyboard. We did have it played on Portuguese radio but again we're looking to the future. Our third tape "Confused", although still using some sequencing has more guitar on it. To be honest, we were a bit dissapointed that this was not recognised, this could be due to the fact that we were busy concentrating on tape four instead of pushing it.
ThanksThanks to everyone who has bought any of our tapes. We'd also like to say that we would appreciate any comments on any of our work, whether it be music, lyrics or even the presentation. The comments can be good or bad, giving advice or asking for help with your own work, any feedback is better than none.Stalker and limited copies of our earlier tapes are available at £2 each (inc. P&P) from Stewarty at:
